The island of Yeu
From Fromentine or Saint Gilles Croix de vie, cross the sea on a cargo ship to the island of Yeu .
Rich in history, this territory is also known for its landscapes : the coasts, the beaches and the imposing nature. Visit the castle of the island and trace the history of these 23km² of land through the dolmens, menhirs and stones located in its four corners. Pass also by the lighthouse and the small ports, very pleasant in summer by the freshness of the wind.
To visit Noirmoutier you can go through the Passage du Gois, but be careful with the tides because once the sea rises, it covers this passage of paved stones. Don’t panic, another bridge is available 24 hours a day.
Once you arrive, discover the 7 kilometers of fine sandy beach, soaking your feet has never been so pleasant. You can also find salt marshes, a wood (the Bois de La Chaise), the port of Morin and the mills of La Guérinière.
In the city center you can access restaurants and bars at any time of the day. Picnic areas are also located throughout the island.
The island of Ré
Otherwise, the island of Ré is not very far from your campsite. Discover its nature reserve filled with birds and where nature is Queen. Climb to the top of the bell tower of Saint-Martin-en-Ré and admire the breathtaking view of the whole island. Visit the lighthouse of the whales and its museum, the abbey of Châteliers or the fortifications of Saint-Martin-en-Ré.
